For me, Lacetown is the perfect club and I genuinely look forward to club nights. Everyone is friendly and while the club has a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for the casual archer, there is also a competitive side for those wishing to take it further.
There is a wealth of information available, from very experienced archers, so if you need help with any aspect of archery you only need to ask. Whatever style you shoot, longbow, barebow, recurve or compound, Lacetown is a great place to do it.
Also, must mention the cakes that Wendy makes! They are awesome.

We started archery by doing the beginners’ course in 2021 and found the club to be so friendly and helpful – making sure the beginners knew how to do it safely but also offering encouragement and advice.
We have since joined the club proper and for myself and my 13-year-old we like the relaxed, friendly and inclusive atmosphere. There is friendly competition if you want it, lots of cake and fellow members on hand for hints and tips if needed.

I have been a member of Lacetown Archers for nearly a year. I did a beginners’ course there in October 2021 using a recurve bow, and everyone was kind and helpful. Lacetown Archers has a very welcoming atmosphere and accepts all ages, old and young (responsible teenagers).
I like being a member of Lacetown Archers because of the cheerful, happy atmosphere and how experienced archers are willing to help out new archers when they are doing something wrong or want to learn something new. As a junior member, I think that everyone is very supportive and kind towards new and old members of the club.

The club nights continue to be enjoyable and my archery skills have improved with lots of practice and help from other friendly members. There is a good vibe at the club with a bit of banter and healthy motivation.

I’ve been a member for at least ten years. After doing a beginners’ course, I joined with my son. We both initially shot compound – now I shoot recurve. The club has always been very friendly. No pressure to compete, excellent advice always available.
The club is about enjoying the sport, having fun and doing as much or as little as individuals want to with no pressure to do more than is comfortable. Those who do compete invariably are in the top places with many trophies won. We may not have super facilities but that doesn’t stop us from success.
It’s great to see a big diversity in bow styles shot. Lacetown Archers is a great club to be a member of.

As a complete beginner to archery, I joined Lacetown Archers after completing their beginners’ course because I really liked having a go at archery during the training sessions and didn’t want it to end. I also liked how friendly the group was.
Since those early days, I have thoroughly enjoyed being a member of Lacetown Archers and learning techniques to help me improve. I like that archery is skilful and challenging, but at the same time it’s lots of fun.
